The Top 5 Completely Speculative Conor McGregor Opponents

Somehow after losing two fights in a row, Conor McGregor is still top MMA news. By two fights in a row, I mean Nate Diaz choking him with ninja shit and a unanimous decision against UFC in a pissing contest. Since then, McGregor retired, un-retired, went on Twitter tirades and now is trying to promote a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr.! We all seem agreed that boxing Money Mayweather will probably never happen, but what other fights probably won’t happen? A lot of them. Well, at least five. We present MiddleEasy.com‘s “The Top 5 Speculative Conor McGregor Opponents”.

5Diaz

Of course, the most likely Conor McGregor fight to happen next seems to be Ninja Gaiden II: Multi-Million Dollar Vengeance with Nate Diaz. Dana White and the brass met with McGregor over dinner to discuss business and Diaz requested the same treatment in Stockton. But it looks like even that might be in jeopardy with both men storming off from their meeting. After finding out McGregor was reportedly going to make $10 million for his next fight, Diaz probably touched his pinky finger to his mouth and requested one billion dollars.

4Kangaroo

Ok, hear me out on this one. McGregor is all about breaking records and a fight with an animal would surely do that (and probably more likely than a fight with Mayweather). Just check out the clinch game on this Kangaroo. You’re telling me if you sent this Roo to Nova União to train with José Aldo in preparation for McGregor, that wouldn’t the best episodes of Embedded ever? Hell, split the camp between the Diaz Bro’s, give him six months of sprawl and a Kangaroo could be UFC champion.

3Bigfoot

This isn’t as far-fetched as you think. McGregor lives primarily in Ireland, which is ripe with folklore, not to mention a Bigfoot sighting was just reported earlier this year in Northern Ireland. Not only that, but he also frequently goes to Iceland where they still believe in elves and most definetly could have a Sasquatch lurking in those primeval mountains. Bigfoot would have a size advantage on McGregor, would be incredibly aggressive and probably the most elusive opponent he has ever faced.

Yes. McGregor fighting Bigfoot is more likely than him fighting Frankie Edgar. Just like Edgar says, somehow when they are supposed to fight McGregor finds a way out, like telekinetically rupturing Edgar’s groin. Perhaps it is Edgar who is afraid of McGregor? Because that ability is terrifying to me. Either way, it seems like McGregor is a shoe-in to defend his title against the winner of Aldo and Edgar but then why would White meet with Diaz right after McGregor? And will McGregor actually want to make that cut again?

1Floyd

The number one least likely to happen speculative fight has to be Money Mayweather. This is two dudes with no fight lined up, nothing to do, circle jerk promoting themselves. I can’t blame them. It’s the reason every media outlet does at least one story a day on them. There’s just too many problems for this to actually happen. Mayweather would take too much of the cut, Vegas or Croke Park, would it be boxing or MMA rules or a hybrid and would McGregor really uphold the rule-set? Inoki sure as hell didn’t in the infamous fight with Muhammad Ali. I don’t see a bout with Mayweather going much different, except that fight happened and this fight will not.

Maybe the point is for this fight not to even happen. Maybe the point is no point. Maybe just talking shit, which is 75% of what fight promotion is. I’m just going to leave this here…
