Doesn’t it seem like yesterday that women’s MMA had only 3 minute rounds? Oddly enough that was all the way back in 2009 when Strikeforce changed their rules to allow for 5 minute rounds. Cyborg vs. Carano happened the same year in August, I can’t be the only one who feels as if that just happened.
It seemed as if the idea of women at lower weight classes would never make a living in America. Now there’s a season of The Ultimate Fighter dedicated to the 115 pound weight class. Not only that but the UFC is airing Invicta fights on their streaming service. Hooray for progress!
Invcita’s new card is on November 1st, featuring a headlining bout of Barb Honchak vs. Takayo Hashi. Of course, it’ll be live on UFC Fight Pass (with a new announcer that we can’t tell you about).
