How can Maeda vs. Kanehara at Sengoku: Soul of Fight NOT be fight of the year?

If not fight of the year, let’s give them a complimentary award for ‘Round of the Year’. We know that these fights will look better when aired in 1080p on HDNet in a few days, but for the time being, they look remarkable on YouTube. Once again at Sengoku: Soul of Fight, we had another upset and this time the exchanges between the two fighters were wild, forceful and full of amazing. Yoshiro Maeda finds a way for his fist and foot to repeatedly connect with Kanehara’s skull after being rocked earlier in the first round. Some of you may say the fight was stopped to early, and you may have a point. Regardless, this fight illustrates why Japanese MMA is a unique brand that should never disappear from the face of this planet.
