Carano talks about her period and MMA…and I still love her

Gina Carano told ESPN the Magazine that she doesn’t schedule fights during her period. I wish my ex would have followed her example. In fact, it was the exact opposite; 100% of all fights were scheduled around her period. It was that time of the month…for her to throw a wok at me because a chick ‘nudged’ me on Facebook. It was always fun walking into my room only to find all my clothes thown out the window because she found my Adriana Lima photo archive hidden in my ‘Snood‘ folder. Ex-girlfriends are useful when you want something to haunt you for the rest of your friggin life everytime you hear a pan clang in the kitchen. Luckily, Gina Carano isn’t my ex. Here is what she had to say about periods, sports bras and MMA:

“I try not to schedule fights the week I’ll be on my period. Making weight is hard enough, and during our period we may retain around seven pounds of water weight. Plus bruises hurt more, you’re bloated and cramping, and emotionally, it’s tougher to battle through the training. Also, some states require us to wear breast padding, since we are allowed to punch there. One time I didn’t have any; a guy told me to put a rolled-up towel in my bra. I said no. I usually just wear three sports bras during a fight.”

So chicks are allowed to punch in the boob? Guess I lost that bet that I made with ‘Hard Luck Chuck’ a few weeks ago in Las Vegas. If you’re reading this Chuck, you have $20 coming your way plus that $5 gift card to Barnes and Nobles I had in my pocket at the time. [Source]
