BREAKING: UFC Fans in Disarray After Another Bombshell of a Big Announcement

BARUERI, Brazil, Dec. 21st, 2014 — Fans of the Ultimate Fighting Championship were in for a treat last night when Lyoto Machida stepped into the Octagon with blue-chipper CB Dollaway in what was a rock ‘em, sock ‘em main event, but that wasn’t the big news of the night. In fact, Machida’s knockout of Dollaway played second fiddle to the big announcement that there was going to be a big announcement that night. Fans are in disarray after another in a long line of big announcements from the UFC rocked them to their very core.

The UFC — a fight promotion based in Las Vegas, Nevada — has never skimped when it comes to big announcements, most recently known for their big announcement of #TheTimeIsNow. What was #TheTimeIsNow? It was a huge announcement of a press conference that featured all of their top stars and laid out the groundwork for what should be a bustling 2015 schedule featuring top stars and promising less injuries under Dana White’s iron fist.

Then at UFC 181 there was another big announcement that the big announcement was probably supposed to be former professional wrestling [note from the editor: fake wrestling] superstar Philip “CM Punk” Brooks, although there is some internal debate that another big announcement of a big announcement of the uniform deal with Reebok was #TheTimeIsNow. Last night’s big announcement was that former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion and monster truck spree-maniac Quinton “Rampage” Jackson — who is under contract to Bellator — has decided that his contract with Bellator was void and will be joining the UFC.

The UFC has been criticized of late for not giving the fans what they want, but after bombshell after bombshell of big announcements that aren’t actually giving the fans anything near what they want it’s very clear that the UFC has their finger on the pulse of the ever-changing MMA landscape unlike any other promoter in the game. Fans are crossing their fingers that the next big announcement involves finally delivering on the fight of the century between Dana White and Tito Ortiz, but as of press time that is only one fan’s vain hope.

More as the story develops.
