So it’s been confirmed, Don Frye will fight Bobby Lashley in September via the Florida based MMA organization ‘XFC‘. The XFC put on a pretty good card a couple of months ago on their first HDNet broadcast. Didnt know any of the fighters but the most memorable moment was when two heavyweights that looked like they were related to Frodo Baggins put on a pretty impressive show filled with spinning roundhouses, stunning submission attempts and full on effort to find The Ring.
But let’s get back to the 900lb gorilla sitting directly in front of your screen (with a Don Frye outfit on). Don Frye fought in UFC 8. He’s 11 years older than Bobby Lashley (dude is 43). Calling Frye a legend isnt even enough for this guy. He’s racked up victories Gary Goodridge, Tank Abbott, Gilbert Yvel (due to a technicality of Yvel friggin gouging Frye’s eye), Cyril Abidi (one of the coaches in TUF 9) and Ken Shamrock. Don Frye also has a mustache he uses to hide right hooks and elbows in. I don’t even know what to say about this fight, it defintely has a shiny coat of WTFness layered all over it.
