Today at ONE Championship 42: Ascent to Power, Angela “Unstoppable” Lee proved just that in an absolute banger against Mei Yamaguchi. Each fighter was pushed to the limit and gave everyone a wealth of footage to use in future highlights. Submission fakes, knockdowns, blitzes, sick transitions… This fight had it all, folks. It’s like these two ladies had a badass checklist.
Lee and Yamaguchi sure as hell didn’t waste any time either. It was an onslaught straight from the beginning.

It was a back and forth until the 3rd round when Yamaguchi hit Lee with a rocket-powered right hand, which immediately put Lee into very deep waters. …But once again she lived up to her nickname and recovered like a warrior.

Lee came back to threaten Yamaguchi with multiple submissions attempts, including faking a triangle and pulling off some really amazing and technical transitions. Eventually, Lee switched up to a head and arm triangle to close the 5th but somehow Yamaguchi never tapped or passed out.
