Alistair Overeem vs. Travis Browne set for UFC on Fox Sports 1 1, and it's not even the main event

MMA logic dictates Alistair Overeem beats Travis Browne easily, but that same logic also told us The Reem would have blazed through Bigfoot Silva at UFC 156. Although Alistair was taking it to Bigfoot in the first two rounds, something happened in the third — and Bigfoot capitalized on the opportunity by sending a few hard hooks directly to Overeem’s chin, dropping his body on the canvas while Herb Dean tried his best to hold back a dude that adopted ‘Bigfoot’ for his first name. It was Alistair’s first MMA loss since he took on Sergei Kharitonov at Hero’s 10 in Japan back in 2007.

Regardless, messing with someone that has the last name ‘Overeem’ is just a really bad idea. Reem means to ‘open up something’ or ‘to make a hole.’ In Hebrew, reem also means a horned wild animal. For the sake of this argument, let’s just combine those two definitions together and you get a horned wild animal that likes to make holes in things. Let that soak in for a while, in the meantime just know that MMA Junkie broke the news that Alistair Overeem and Travis Browne have been pegged to fight in the debut UFC on Fox Sports 1 card — which will be referred to as UFC on Fox Sports 1 1 because the MMA community has a thing for numerical events. The greatest thing is, that’s not even the main event. That means something bigger than Alistair Overeem fighting on free television will he the headliner, and that should make all of you warm and fuzzy inside.
