Ali Abdelaziz Sides With Joe Rogan In Accusing Conor McGregor Of Cheating Against Khabib Nurmagomedov

Khabib's manager unsurprisingly agreed "The Notorious" cheated at UFC 229.

  • Conor McGregor mocked Joe Rogan over accusations of hitting Khabib Nurmagomedov of an illegal knee at UFC 229
  • Ali Abdelaziz said Rogan was right and “The Notorious” cheated in more ways than one
  • The Irish MMA superstar didn’t deny the illegal knee and called it a “never before seen shot”

While waiting for a concrete date for his UFC return, Conor McGregor found himself dealing with an array of things except fighting. The former UFC two-division champ is currently linked to some issues stemming from his withdrawal from the USADA pool. On the side, McGregor’s jacked physique saw him being accused of taking PEDs by several MMA personalities, most recently, Joe Rogan.

Prior to that, McGregor hit out at Rogan by posting a clip of his fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 in which the UFC commentator accused him of pulling off an illegal knee on “The Eagle.” As expected, Nurmagomedov’s manager Ali Abdelaziz sided with Rogan and shared more cheating accusations.

Rogan didn’t lie

In his post, McGregor mocked Rogan, who could be heard calling, “That was an illegal knee on the ground by Conor – a knee to the head of a downed opponent” as he described the sequence between the two fighters on the ground.

Looking at the video, McGregor clearly kneed Khabib’s face while trying to prevent a potential ground and pound scenario.

“‘That was an illegal knee on the head of a grounded opponent.’ Shut up Joe, you little fool,” McGregor said in an audio recording. “What are you talking about, ‘Smash this and smash that?’ I was smashing my knee into his f***ing eye socket, yeah? ‘That’s a knee to a grounded opponent, call the cops.'”

It didn’t take long for Abdelaziz to barge in. According to the Dominance MMA boss, McGregor clearly cheated during that fight and it wasn’t only the knee while Nurmagomedov was on the ground.

“Joe didn’t lie you was cheating the whole fight grabbing the shirt [shorts], grabbing the gloves, knee from the bottom and you still get your a*s whooped stop doing drugs,” Abdelaziz wrote.

McGregor didn’t lie about it either

As it turned out, McGregor had already commented on the issue in 2020. And at the time, “The Notorious” didn’t deny that he pulled off an illegal knee. Instead, he labeled it as “The Springbok knee” and one of his many “never before seen shots.”

McGregor’s much-awaited UFC return is still up in the air, but former lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos already made his pitch for a showdown in July next year.
