To Shogun Rua's credit, he did decided to change up the hue of his fight shorts. He already knew they would be covered with crimson by the end of the fight so he just wanted to speed up the process. Unfortunately Shogun's red shorts didn't hold any intrinsic properties that assisted in him stopping the onslaught of that Swedish viking guy known as Alexander Gustafsson.

Shogun managed to piece together an overhand right that connected on a number of occasions against Gustafsson, however they shots came after The Mauler essentially lived up to his nickname. Now that Alexander has defeated yet another 205 lber, it's only a matter of time until people will forget about demanding Jon Jones vs. Anderson Silva and proclaim Bones Jones is ducking Alexander Gustafsson.

What the fuck is Shoguns problem? He's got the hardest hitting kicks in all of MMA and he never uses them...

Did anyone see the Jon Jones vs Shogun fight? Shogun kicked Jones once in the leg and completely buckled him, it's Jones biggest weakness. It's also many other fighters biggest weaknesses.

Ben Henderson kicked Diaz ass because of the leg kicks. Shogun needs to throw more fucking leg kicks. Shoguns one of the toughest fucks this side of the universe, but his style since beating Machida has been pretty much throw haymakers and nothing else. He gasses himself out by throwing bombs he can't land, and forgets to utilize his brutal kicking abilities.

It pisses me off to see a legend lose like this when all he had to do was throw a few more kicks.

Did anyone see Shogun Rua on Sports Science? He broke the record with the most powerful strike recorded...2,74 9 lbs. of force with a single leg kick...

But actually he didn't look that fast for a while now and his cardio was better than in his last fights. His striking and closing the distance is slow so he's fucked against faster opponents with a longer reach who can simply get there faster b/c of their reach advantage. Also a problem is that he's getting taken down relatively easily and his guard is just not for mma - he's getting punched in the face way too much with the open guard. This can be also a factor but maybe his knees hurt as well (something he would never admit for obvious reasons).
