I want my ******* fifteen dollars back. I'm so disappointed by this game I don't even want to review it. I've forced myself to play Bellator: MMA Onslaught for multiple hours now (all for you), and I've tried to like it...I really have. The menus are pretty, I think the production values and features for a $15 Xbox Live Arcade or Playstation Network game are hitting the ceiling, if not through the roof, but at the end of the day, a fighting game needs to play well - and Bellator: MMA Onslaught does not play well.

In fact, it plays horribly.

OK, first off, let me just say that I understand what the developers were trying to do here, going for a pure arcade fighting experience. I'll even admit that I kind of liked Supremacy MMA (their previous game) for what it was, and with the correct character it was a decent arcade beat em up with a ridiculous amount of gore. But aside from the impressive amount of features in Bellator: Onslaught (Tournament Mode, CAF, character customization for movesets) there is nothing redeeming about it. It's a bummer right off the bat when you find out there are only eight fighters in the game: Pat Curran, Marlon Sandro, Michael Chandler, Ronnie Mann, Patricky and Patricio Pitbull, Joe Warren and Daniel Straus. And there are only two weight classes: lightweight and featherweight. Luckily you can create up to four created characters to keep things somewhat fresh.

Customizing your moveset is a nice feature, but when it's nearly impossible to execute your moves with the sluggish gameplay, what's the point? Submission attempts harken back to Track N' Field button-mash fests, and the spooky announcer growling at that start of a round; 'Ready?' 'Fight!' sounds like they stole some outtakes from the Mortal Kombat II recording sessions. There's no Jimmy Smith or Sean Wheelock, so that's another bummer, the sound effects are standard fare, the graphics are pretty nice for a DLC game (the blood is better than UFC 3) and the music isn't horrrible. Sadly, I couldn't test the matchmaking servers because no one was playing, but that's probably due to the fourth of July holiday.

As far as arcade-style fighting games go, you could do a lot better than Bellator: MMA Onslaught. But if you are a diehard Bellatorhead, you can button mash your way to a few sparsely placed giggles with a few friends. But you may cry yourself to sleep later that night. You've been warned.

did no one play arcade games as a child? does anyone here know what arcade games are? has anyone ever blown through 10 dollars worth of quarters in 10 seconds? damn kids, you spoiled. I downloaded the demo to see what all the hulabaloo was about and I wasted a good hour just playing. that's all it is, cheap thrills, some blood and that youthful wonder of "how the fuck did I just lose?" not everything needs to be complex.

Not to mention King of Fighters, Marvel vs Capcom,Samurai Showdown ect.... when viewed in that perspective it's a waste of money. So if we continue with the arcade analogy, why spend your quarters on a lame game that no is playing when all the cool kids are playing Super Street Fighter II turbo.

The King of Fighters '94 was/is one of the best fucking games, arcade or not, made. Ive wasted so many hours/days playing that game during high school its just wrong. There used to be a small restaurant across the road from the high school an a bunch of us would play it for hours lol...good times good times. Oh yeah, the movie sucks monkey balls too
