The last time Hector Lombard tasted defeat was six years ago by the hands of Gegard Mousasi back in Pride Bushido 13. Before that, Gono grinded out a unanimous decision just a few months earlier in 2006. Since then, he's gone on one of the longest current winning streaks in MMA and finished nineteen of his last twenty-four fights. On paper, Hector Lombard represents Anderson Silva's last true test at middleweight, well just don't tell Mark Munoz that.

We caught up with The Filipino Wrecking Machine to get his take on the news that Hector Lombard may get a title shot if he defeats Tim Boetsch in an impressive fashion at UFC 149, and it seems like Munoz wasn't that thrilled with the idea.

If the likes of Lutter, Cote, Maia and Leites deserve a title shot, Mark Munoz sure as hell deserves a title shot.
And Chris leben quit btw.

Lutter won TUF that guaranteed him a shot, Cote was a replacement for an injured Vitor, Maia was a replacement for an injured Okami & leites was on a 5 fight winning streak.. and im not even going to talk about how overrated Munoz's wrestling is or how he got knocked out by freaking Hamill & rocked by the likes of Maiia & Kendal grove....

I'm just saying it's unreasonable to say Munoz doesn't deserve a title shot at all.
And outside of Lombard and Sonnen, who else is left in the UFC MW division to challenge Silva?.
And I think Munoz's wrestling is good enough to take Silva down.

Munoz and Weidman is going to be interesting,Whi ch i give Munoz props for taking that fight,I think he warrants a shot without the Weidman fight,Also it's a fight he could very well lose.Behind Sonnen i'd have Munoz,even Bisping gets thrown out for a shot after losing to sonnen

If taking Anderson down was that simple Okami would've done it(same Okami Munoz couldnt take down to save his life) Chael is an olympic caliber wrestler & he was only able to take Silva down 3 out of 7 times(the fight stayed on the ground because the ref rewarded inactivity & Silva is extremely confident in his BJJ) people forget or ignore that fight only kept ending up on the ground because Silva was slipping all over the place, throwing wild haymakers, got reversed while in top control, and was just not his normal composed self.. i mean the man has 69% career takedown defense but people talk about him like he just started wrestling a few months ago....

I guess Munoz is over the whole "I wont fight Anderson" thing? I love Munoz though, he's one of the exciting wrestlers, a lot of guys who can't finish fights should take notes when he's in the cage.

Lombard needs to wait in line..Munoz deserves the next shot in my opinion..He has done everything needed and proved he deserves the shot.Then Bisping.Lombard has proved nothing fighting average fighters.He needs atleast 4 fights and to win them first..
