TRT is a crutch for past roid abusers who are facing the consequences of roiding. They chose to juice, they deserve to deal with the consequences.

This whole TRT carry-on is quite simply exposing MMA fighters as being a crowd of dopers.

If the athletes legitimately have low testosterone levels compared to the average man then I agree they should be eligible for treatment.

However, why is the 6:1 limit so high? is it presumed any male in the fight game must have high testosterone levels due to the nature of his work or because it takes the use of supplements into account?

testosterone naturally diminishes as you age. There is a base level that is recognized by the relevant medical board and that is the level that you are allowed to be treated to. It basically brings older folk like Hendo and Couture up to the numbers they had in their prime - this doesn't mean that any of them were on steroids and their bodies have lost the capability to produce hormones. The younger guys could easily be getting that minumum "top-up" to correct the naturally decline that starts in your 20s. People like Marquardt and Overeem who go over their limit and get found out quickly end up on the shit end of the stick.

A second point to consider is that any dude who was roiding in his earlier years would probably have been supplementing with other drugs and cycling their usage to ensure their receptors didn't shut down and they didn't lose control of their own production abilities. It's pretty much Bodybuilding 101 from the early 70s and there is a lot of knowledge out there.
