if you are lessening the effects of natures way then you are performance enhancing. Not fair to the natural athletes who don't want to put stuff into their body. You hear about fighters say all the time that 90% of people are on something, so if that's true, which it likely is... Then if you're not on it, you're risking your own personal safety. And this is said about all sports, don't get it twisted, every athlete at the highest levels of the sport is supplimenting to stay on the level. Athletes will not stop using PED's as long as PED's exist. Which they always will. So the best thing an athletic commission can do is monitor levels. It actually keeps things a lot more honest.

Aside from that, bodies break down, and you can't sustain a decent lifestyle as a fighter if your body breaks down after all the years of training and can only do 3 or 4 fights before the injuries start to pile up. It keeps guys like Dan Henderson in the game a bit longer.

Also you have to understand that some people like Jon Jones are freakishly gifted with high testosterone levels, although I wouldn't be surprised if he tests positive at some point either. They can have higher levels naturally than are allowed by athletic commissions by a subject using TRT. How is THAT fair? It's not. I don't think monitoring is a bad idea because at least everybody's playing on an even keel.
