There was a article a while back that explained that he is just a figure to help promote the Blackhouse fighters to the American audience. Those two head kicks are surely techniques that Lyoto and Silva would have been practising for years which is even evident with the fact that Lyoto shows the exact same kick in his training video that was released years ago, they've just both coincidentally been fortunate enough to execute the kicks precisely enough to create these amazing heelight reel knockout finishes. You can't discount the fact that Seagal is a very respected figure in Aikido he is a 7th dan black belt if I'm not mistake, but I highly doubt he had really anything to do with them pulling of these kicks. Lefthea D. Kick couldn't have been more right.

that writstlock is pretty official my bjj teacher was also pretty versed in aikido and japanese (standing) jiu-jitsu and those moves bring the bitch out of the toughest dudes

and as far as his taking credit for the kicks, I agree its a bit of a troll job. so when he starts doing his "mma fox news move" for the cameras he starts sounding like charlie browns teacher to me

What did the Aikido fighting style originate from?

When you answered where it originated from, did other relevant MMA fighting styles originate from that same root style?

If you answered yes, wouldn't it make sense that perhaps there is some legitimacy to Aikido techniques, and that maybe even some are transferable to an MMA fighters toolbox?

Of course though, since he's Steven Seagal, all of that logic goes out the window and we judge a book by its cover.
