Last April, Genki Sudo mentioned on his personal blog that he received his Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt at the Triforce academy under Watanabe Yoshinao. Genki Sudo and his instructor noted that it was somewhat of a paradox to achieve the height of his former profession in retirement. Watanabe asked if this meant he would return to the sport of mixed martial arts and Genki said he thought about it, but abruptly (and sarcastically) said it was a joke. He then ended his diary entry with a 'winking' emoticon.

We picked up the conversation in New York a few weeks ago when we posed the question you all wanted to ask. Here's what Genki Sudo told us...

I'm glad he didn't stick around to be battered like most japanese MMA stars but it still makes me sad to know I won't see him fight again.

You know what Middleeasy and co. I'm not liking all of this information saving, if you do it that day post it up the next day or the same day of shooting. But I can understand saving some good stuff for the most opportune moment, but we luvz the Sudomania we needz da infos now!

man i would really love to see how he stacks up against UFC Lw's.

I just don't think he has the fire to fight anymore, since he's found a new medium (entertainment) for which he can truly express himself and make a sweet wad of cash doing.

if he did plan to come back, to whatever organization, i'd buy tickets in a heartbeat. thats for damn sure.

he's a true, once in a lifetime fighter whose style will never be emulated

however i did see king mo try to pull a genki sudo against feijao,
