Lance Armstrong is one of the few people out there that rides his bike more than me. When he gets bored, he does laps around France while people stop everything they’re supposed to be doing just to cheer him on from the sidewalks. The closest thing to that sort of roadside encouragement I’ve gotten in NYC was people waving their middle finger at me for blowing through red lights with a front basket full of groceries. One of those people may or may not have been Chael Sonnen, who’s officially grown tired of talking about Anderson Silva and found his next target to verbally-fragment. Check out what he had to say about Lance Armstrong on Pro MMA Radio:

“When you screw up, you have to own it. That stuff really gets under my skin. Take Lance Armstrong. Lance Armstrong did a number of things and he gave himself cancer. He cheated, he did drugs, and he gave himself cancer. Well, instead of saying ‘Hey listen, I cheated and gave myself cancer, don’t be like me.’ He actually made himself the victim and then went out and profited something like $15 million dollars from this ‘Hey, poor me, let’s find a cure for cancer’ campaign instead of just coming clean and saying, ‘Look, here’s what I did, I screwed myself up, and I hope people learn from my mistakes.’ You just watch these guys and can’t help but think, God, what a fraud. You got the whole Michael Phelps being a pothead thing too. I’m just glad I’m in the business I’m in so I can get them in the cage and kick the crap out of them.”

This isn't the first time that people have accused Lance Armstrong of cheating and/or utilizing performance-enhancing drugs, and unless you follow cycling, you probably didn’t know that Lance was capable of his own gangsteresque responses like this one. Armstrong has yet to respond because he’s probably in a hot tub full of French lingerie models massaging out his Tour de France cramps for the next few weeks. There was some article about Lance's steroid abuse and it's link to testicular cancer in Sports Illustrated. Sonnen probably got it from there.

It's complete bullshit btw. Steroid usage can lead to liver, kidney and sometimes prostate cancer, but never testicular cancer.

So Ronny, Pauly D. and The Situation can rest easy, knowing they can keep their balls.

Where's the 30-year longtime study on testicular cancer among top cyclists using the latest high tech doping methods?

Those guys glue adrenaline patches to certain afore mentioned bodyparts, taking asthma sprays besides the usual steroid injecting every week.

There's some crazy, risky & very serious doping happening on an olympic level.

Replacing one's blood with older blood, altering one's dna with human growth hormones, slepping in low pressure chambers for more red blood cells - just to get an edge over the cheating competiton.

I can't imagine the long time damage that this does to your body.

Chemo therapy isn't helping win several of the hardest races worldwide.

This guy is a cheater & a liar like most of the top guys are & if Chael, the liar, thinks that could have given him cancer it his opinion.

I'm not the expert, but there is yet to be any scientific proof that testicular cancer can be linked to steroid use. It's on PubMed.

According to my wife, who is an oncologist, testicular cancer is quite a weird form of cancer. Especially because it mainly targets young men. In 95% of the cases it's curable. Most common side effects of the cure are temporary baldness and not so temporary impotence. Ouch.

But there's so much we don't know yet. I might be proven wrong in the near future.

No there are lots of questions about formers dopers who now have cancer, and Lance almost certainly doped. Therefore he can make that conclusion if he wants to, I think the main point he is making is that Lance isn't someone to be emulated.

I do think Sonnen is a douche though, he just got this one right.

Chael is very misinformed. I really thought his smack talk was funny up until this point. He needs to keep his pre-fight hype on Silva. Lance Armstrong is an incredible human being and has been drug tested more times than almost any athlete in the world. And he has never failed a drug test. Lance only used drugs (legally) during his cancer chemo/rehab. Not to mention that Lance was a very successful cyclist before he had cancer, but won all 7 Tour de Frances after he survived cancer
I don't follow cycling much, my a buddy of mine is a huge fan and former collegiate cyclist and that's basically what he said. Also there is plenty of information out there, (wikipedia is a good place to start) And there is no solid evidence of him cheating in any way.

There are plenty of dopers who never failed a test. Lances blood from his 99 win DOES contain epo, but because it was tested for research purposes way after he submitted it, and since there was no available test in 1999, he got off. It's pretty well known in the cycling community that lance doped, but so did everyone else, so it doesn't really take anything away from his wins, or what hes done for hes done for the cancer community.

I've been a cycling nut for more than 20 years. Lance is a doper, guarafuckitee-i t. Everyone in the cycling world knows it. The only ones who don't are the Lance fanboys and apologists. Take a look at the top-10 finishers in le Tour from the late-90's on. There are at least 25 different guys who were proven and/or confessed dopers and Lance not only beat them, but crushed them. Real cyclists KNOW the deal.

AS: great fighter, horrible ppv draw. Out of all the current UFC champs, he is the worst at generating ratings and revenue. He refuses to speak English except for 'yes' or 'no'. He prefers to spend his time practicing his dancing moves and air punches. Big Chael and the Portland OG crew are comin' for his belt real soon, you best believe that.
