Thiago Alves is fighting John Howard at UFC 124 and we're all going to like it

Thiago Alves is fighting John Howard at UFC 124 and we're all going to like it

A couple of days ago on MMAJunkie radio, Mike Pierce called out Thiago Alves and had some pretty decent smack talk regarding Alves on Facebook. On Twitter, Pierce said 'This place is as dead as Thiago Alves' and 'Thiago Alves to be featured on Biggest Loser on Dec 23rd'. He even asked Dana to gi...

Joe Warren vs. Joe Soto comes on TONIGHT!

Joe Warren vs. Joe Soto comes on TONIGHT!

It's the only MMA any of us will be seeing this week, so if you vehemently hate the sport of mixed martial arts, despise equally matched title fights and refuse to see spectacular finishes, don't watch Bellator 27 tonight on Fox Sports West. Your friends will make fun of you behind your back, but ...

KJ Noons thinks Nick Diaz is a trash-talking, pot-smoking chump

KJ Noons thinks Nick Diaz is a trash-talking, pot-smoking chump

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Nick Diaz and KJ Noons rivalry, the beef started back in Elite XC where a controversial doctor stoppage handed Diaz his only loss in the past 3 years. Winning a fight due to a doctor stoppage in the first round is a lot like winning a competitive ea...

EA Sports MMA will not be released in Denmark due to a strange Scandinavian law

EA Sports MMA will not be released in Denmark due to a strange Scandinavian law

When the Kool-Aid man breaks through a wall in a commercial, all the kids start cheering. Imagine a seven-foot pitcher full of Kool-Aid breaking through your house screaming 'Oh yeah!', it's a horrifying thought. He might spill over and get some of himself on the carpet. The worst thing is, you ca...

If you missed the UFC Fan Expo, Bloodstain Lane has you covered

If you missed the UFC Fan Expo, Bloodstain Lane has you covered

In all fairness, the entire MiddleEasy crew was supposed to go to the UFC Fan Expo in a taco truck and serve up carne asada goodness for fans of the site. Sadly the idea didn’t work out after we learned that tacos are not an approved cuisine at the John B. Hynes Center. Not sure what Boston ha...

Karo Parisyan is BACK in the UFC!

Karo Parisyan is BACK in the UFC!

I could be looking too far into it, but when Dana says that you '[Expletive] the UFC' by pulling out of the fight the day before weigh-ins, it looks like that may denote a lifetime ban. In fact, it did constitute a lifetime ban in the promotion, but in ZUFFA years, a lifetime is only ten months....

Overeem accepts Fedor's challenge, plans to fight him after K-1

Overeem accepts Fedor's challenge, plans to fight him after K-1

The greatest thing about Alistair Overeem accepting Fedor's challenge to fight him after he's done with the K-1 Grand Prix is that he actually watched a Bloodstain Lane video on a message board and responded. Next step for Alistair Overeem is to accept my friend request on Xbox Live. The guy plays...

Mariusz Pudzianowski is leaner, meaner, and doesn't think he hits like a girl

Mariusz Pudzianowski is leaner, meaner, and doesn't think he hits like a girl

I used to think the meaning of life was somewhere inside the cut Jose Benevidez left on Miguel Torres’ forehead, but it turns out those were just Miguel’s deepest thoughts about the perfect plate of carnitas after a warm bath. If the meaning of life was actually hidden in plain site, it would...

Dan Henderson and Gegard Mousasi may get the next Strikeforce title shots, despite coming off losses

Dan Henderson and Gegard Mousasi may get the next Strikeforce title shots, despite coming off losses

A lot of people criticized Strikeforce’s decision to give Brett Rogers a title shot immediately following his loss to Fedor Emelianenko last year. This past spring, Ubereem agreed with those critics as he made short work of Rogers and ended his first title defense in just shy of four minutes. ...

Carlos Newton demonstrates a one-inch punch and throws a Wu-Tang reference in for good measure

Carlos Newton demonstrates a one-inch punch and throws a Wu-Tang reference in for good measure

Carlos Newton should be undefeated based on how cool he looks. The same goes with Sokoudjou or any other guy that competes in MMA with a full set of dredlocks. We all wanted them, but our parents firmly held onto the belief that long hair was a gateway drug that led to smoking marijuana, wearing t...

The Shirt Contest sponsored by VXRSI Clothing

Remember that Sakuraba shirt everyone flipped out over? Well it was designed by VXRSI Clothing, creators of an entire line of overly dope MMA apparel. Now we are challenging our readers to create the best MMA shirt on the planet. We know some of you out there are talented enough to take on such a responsibility. If you have what it takes, then enter 'The Shirt Contest' sponsored by VXRSI and be forever considered a baller amongst your peers.

If you can create the best MMA shirt, your shirt will be produced and sold by VXRSI. That's not all. You will also get an ample amount of free VXRSI gear and an ultra-rare limited edition MiddleEasy shirt created by David Shrigley. The contest is free to enter, all we need is your brain cells.

Contest Rules:

Create your very own shirt incorporating the VXRSI and MiddleEasy logo/brand. Creatively, the contest is pretty open so there are as little restrictions as possible. Refrain from using nudity, brash political statements or racist innuendo (in other words, don't be an [expletive]). Stay away from using copyrighted material in your design (don't put a Burger King logo on your VXRSI/MiddleEasy shirt).

Be sure to create your design in the highest quality possible (don't start your t-shirt on a dinky 300x500 pixel canvas). It's hard to give specifics on the required dimensions since every design will be different, but the best thing to do is dig in your friend's tool box and grab a ruler, take out that shirt you spilled beer on last night and measure how big you would like your design to be and just create a new file size in Photoshop, Illustrator, Gimp or whatever program you illegally downloaded off the net (you pirate) with the exact dimensions. Simple as that. Be sure your design is created in 300 DPI and is in CMYK colors.

A winner will be selected based on sheer jaw-dropping rawesomeness. VXRSI will then work with the winner to get their concept/design/idea slapped on a shirt and then be sold directly on VXRSI.com. You will also forever be mentioned on MiddleEasy.com as 'That guy who designed that amazing shirt'.

Submission Rules:

Submit your VXRSI/MiddleEasy shirt design as just a jpeg/gif not measuring more than 600px wide and no larger than 250kb. If it's a winner, we'll ask for the actual production files. Feel free to place whatever watermark you would like on your design if think someone out there is going to steal it and build their entire clothing company around your t-shirt concept. All designs must be submitted to VXRSI@middleeasy.com. All designs submitted become property of VXRSI and MiddleEasy.com.

Utilities:

Don't worry, we got you. The VXRSI and MiddleEasy vector logo can be downloaded here. Using the logo(s) is not required, however at the very least a hint of VXRSI and MiddleEasy must be included somewhere in your design.

Deadline:

Contest ends September 5th 2010. If you have a question or concerns, contact VXRSI@middleeasy.com

About VXRSI:

Mixed Martial Arts,(MMA) is the sport of fighting that combines the various disciplines of combat. MMA is the fourth most watched sport in the US surpassing Soccer and Hockey and trailing behind Football, Basketball and Baseball. Many current brands out in the market continue to create a similar “street fighter” persona incorporating conventional images of skulls, barbed wire, grim reapers and oversized tattoo designs in their apparel. But this “persona” no longer signifies the artist at work, the athlete of combat sport. VXRSI (Vuhr-sahy), from the Latin plural for the word Versus, is a clothing company that is revolutionizing MMA by branding its apparel towards the sport and artistic aspects of fight culture.

Where is the clothing brand that honors the dedication and discipline of the modern martial athlete? There is no other brand that artistically conveys this sport. That is where VXRSI comes in, as it is a genuine sports/lifestyle brand that takes inspiration from the art of fighting. VXRSI is progressive, modern and classic; creative and versatile combining elements of sport/contemporary/streetwear and lifestyle branding and designs.

“Our goal for VXRSI is to challenge the idea of what is considered the “norm” of MMA and sport-inspired brands, bringing the revolutionary and forward thinking that it takes to spark a completely new era in the way the sport is represented. The sport of fighting is an art form in itself. If you watch two skilled martial athletes, it's like a human chess match of both the physical and mental, a clash of wits and will. And in that understanding you can identify the true artistry before you as you would in any artistic discipline or performance.“, says Dano Dejos, Creative Director. The VXRSI team is comprised of apparel veterans from the streetwear/lifestyle apparel industry, artists, designers, and creatives – many with MMA backgrounds and martial sports foundations. Through the VXRSI philosophy, it’s not about winning or losing. It’s about striving and overcoming. It’s growing and evolving. It’s about the journey, the experience and what it does to you. It’s immersing yourself in the here and now.
