Ah, man. Dave Bergel is a throwback to when human beings didn't fully develop the part of the cerebral cortex that tells a person when they're acting like a complete jackass. Being uninformed is something that can be remedied, but ignorance in face of information is just unforgivable.

A few weeks ago we told you about the Bergel's anger that the UFC is offering women the same opportunities as men. We regrettably introduced this guy to the MMA world and fortunately Inside MMA has decided to send him off in style through a perfectly-timed tongue lashing from Bas Rutten and Kenny Rice. Let's hope this is the last time we ever mention 'Dave Bergel' anywhere in the MMA world. He's had more than enough time to sling whatever sexist opinions he has towards women and mixed-martial arts, which he calls a 'disgusting, barbaric entertainment event.' People like this exist -- and perhaps the scariest thing is he has been placed in a position of power to sway public opinion. Props to Inside MMA on accepting such a imbecile on their show in order to show him the path of sports enlightenment -- regardless of if he truly paid attention to anything that was being said.

Chael's a great choice for sure!! I see some "vote downs" but keep in mind, I'm not talking about "ambassadors to MMA" or anything like that, but specifically people who can really defend MMA as a valid sport, win the debate, say what needs to be said and be able to refute the statements of the anti-MMA zealots...

And I put "Mo" in the list because he's a true student of combat sports and a decorated wrestler - and I did write that despite all his knowledge I don't know if he'd be a good spokesperson... he's intelligent and all, but it would require someone with a cool, clear head who'd say the right things...

Maybe I shouldn't use the term "spokesperson". I want there to be certain "go to" people who can be called up to challenge MMA critics. Doesn't matter what their background is, if they're a fighter or not or if they got caught for 'roids or whatever.

We all know the arguments, but we need someone who can really intelligently and properly debate the issue! Bonus if they happen to be Olympians like Cormier or Rousey (for public oohs and aahs)...
