Damn. Just when we thought the UFC heavyweight division was about to get an extremely valuable and extremely dangerous commodity to shake up the shallow division, we get news from MMAFighting that Josh Barnett has officially (and figuratively) pushed the piece of paper his contract was printed out on back across the swanky boardroom table (we assume) and shook his bearded face 'no.'

It's especially annoying considering we've been waiting to press play on 'Reunited' on the MiddleEasy office karaoke machine for like, weeks.

Now our karaoke party is ruined along with our dreams of a Warmaster in the UFC. Great. I'll go roll up the mic cable, you guys read this quote directly from Josh Barnett's manager (Warmanager?) Leland LaBarre:

"We agreed on guaranteed compensation," "In fact, we never even countered. We accepted their original offer.

"However, there are some outlying issues -- one in particular -- that as of this point we were unable to agree on."

"We want to find the best deal for Josh and his final MMA home," LaBarre said.

The only thing that can comfort us now is the knowledge that anything can (and usually will) happen in MMA, so maybe they can get this worked out soon. Please. Reuniting feels so good (the song says so).

I'm not really bummed about this. This is probably for the better. Barnett doesn't really fit in the UFC. We've always enjoyed his crazy antics in Wrestling and he can still draw lots of fans in Japan.

this dumb fuck doesnt realize they agree on guaranteed compensation, the issue keeping the deal from happening is either he wants to still be able to wrestle which the UFC isnt gonna allow, nor should they.

Or some are saying its about drug testing.

Either way it doesnt appear to be a money issue, atleast not a guaranteed money issue, maybe he wants PPV money but most think its the drug testing or wrestling issue and he aint getting special treatment.
