Jose Aldo believes Fedor Emelianenko is the GOAT, Anderson Silva comes in 4th place

Jose Aldo believes Fedor Emelianenko is the GOAT, Anderson Silva comes in 4th place

We here at MiddleEasy don’t necessarily subscribe to the notion that there needs to be a pound for pound list. In fact, we would even argue that the only list you need is the official Frate Trane List, the qualifications are designed by Ray Kurzweil, so you know for a fact that this list holds up to the highest of standards. I can’t delve too much much into what Mr. Kurzweil puts into his formula to decide the list, I can say that it has a heavy reliance on violence and fighters the embody the singularity.

Pound for pound lists for the most part are quite silly, the subjectivity involved in them is absurd. It’s like comparing Shenmue to Portal 2. What game is better? How would you even begin to compare the two? They both rely on completely different game mechanics, that is what it is like comparing fighters in different weight classes the majority of the time.

With all of that being said, I agree with Jose Aldo. Fedor is the GOAT, all hail The Last Emperor.

I don't know why so many people freak out when you question Fedor. His fights weren't really questionable, it was just what the MMA HW division had to offer at the time. MMA was barely 10 years old when Fedor began his reign of terror. I do believe he ducked some fights, Like the Couture vs.Fedor fight they tried to set up as a PRIDE vs. UFC HW vs. HW champ in 2007 that I still wish happened or more recently a fight with Overeem which I think Fedor would win. He was the best at the time. I think he would be annihilated fighting HW's nowadays, but then again he smoked Semmy Schilt who was massively bigger than him. If Fedor were around today he would be the king of 205 and on a Dolce diet..

Dude im not even kidding but with a REAL diet and cut like every other pro mma fighters out there nowaday, Fedor wouldve been a middleweight... . he was 230 pounds with easily 20 pounds of fat on him, it was probably closer to 30 pounds to be realistic. So with the exact same muscle mass he wouldve been 200pds on the money... thats a 15 pound water cut for MW (which is easy as pie compared to some of the weight some guys cut)

i was mostly just talking about his fights against people who he had no business fighting..i can't remember all the names off the top of my head but the people with 0-1 records etc. he fought plenty of great fighters too but when youre picking the goat you cant just ignore the other fights..its still close for me though, its not like i said it wasnt even a top 10 fighter..hes still a very close 2nd to me

Not really. Anderson Silva was asked about Jose Aldo once and Silva said, "If I fought at 145 I would retire."

Actually Silva said, "If Jose Aldo fought at 185 I would retire." I had the right quote, just wrong weight class.

Rickson is a silly person, and so are his lame followers. I remember watching something where one of his students claimed that Rickson has a powerful aura that drains your energy as you roll with him and he always wins. Fucking retarded. Even Helio said Rickson was full of himself and used exhibitions and sparring matches as part of his "400-0" record he claims.

If you put these Fedor & Anderson in prison cell, gun to the head....who wins in a fight to the death? All I an say is I would feel a lot more relaxed picking Fedor & nervous as hell if I were dumb enough to have picked Silva.
