The official look at the UFC 162 main event is here, and it's full of fighters predicting Weidman will beat Anderson

Anderson vs. Weidman has been a fight fueled entirely by the hype that Weidman has all of the tools needed to bring Anderson out of the Matrix and into reality, and it's laid on really, really thick here in this main event preview by the UFC. Just about everyone knows Anderson Silva is one of the greatest fighters ever, and they admit that in this video, but in the same breath they are picking Weidman to win. So I ask you this, dear MiddleEasy readers: haven't we seen this before? Hasn't every fight Anderson's took part in over the last 4-5 years been built up like this? So what happens if Anderson destroys Weidman? It pretty much debases all of these promos and makes me think these fighters don't know what they're ever talking about. Go against Anderson? They really have been punched in the head too many times.

That's not stopping me from eating all this up with a spoon, though. I can't wait until Saturday night.

Or, you know, they're hyping the fight for the promotion they work for.

Anyone remember the initial reactions when that fight was announced? Silva didnt want that fight and neither did the fans. Dont get fooled by the propaganda people.

These dudes can't be serious. Has anyone bothered to look at Weidman's record? He is inexperienced and being over hyped. Silva took out Hendo via RNC, are people trying o say Weidman is a better wrestler than Hendo?

Yes. Chris Weidman is a better wrestler than Dan Henderson... for MMA. In a pure Greco Roman match Hendo beats damn near everyone in the UFC. But Greco Roman is mostly good for clinch work and take down defense. Weidman's takedowns are much better than Henderson's which you'll see a lot of from wrestlers with a freestyle/folk background. His submission defense is much better than Hendo's as well. Rounds 2-5 of Henderson vs. Sheilds and Weidman's ADCC match with Galvao are worth a watch.

ME you gotta post the ESPN interview from yesterday where Anderson says GSP is ''no good'' and basically calls out Jon Jones and says that it needs to happen for the history of the sport. All in the same day he trolled the media by saying ''i dont think I can beat Jones''. I wanted to post the video but its been removed.

yeah Anderson did some pretty high level counter trolling pretending not to know who GSP was and not answering in English in this interview as well

It’s hilarious to see how hard UFC are trying to hype this fight up.

Do they really believe MMA fans to be that gullible?

We all know who’s going win. It’s just a question of in which round he chooses to do it.

Well, I'm sure some UFC fans are that gullible... such as Mr. "Just Bleed" and those types of winners.

Now let's ask some Brazilians who they think will win.
This video is obviously BS.

Love how in this video Chris is being hyped by four UFC commentators and a Renzo trained fighter in GSP... But no bias here....

i counted at least 5 dudes who were only saying weed man stuff because they wanted to get some publicity....th ere is a reason they needed to do nametags for the who's who of strikeforce in wideman's promo

Okay i have had enough. Fuck the ufc and it's hype machine. Weidmann has done nothing and in no way warrants this level of hype.

It's insulting and annoying.

Someone is gonna win and someone is goona loose, that's my prediction. I just don't know who? The track record says Silva but I wouldn't be surprised at an upset. I've never been a fan of Silva's antics but if he wins I'll hespect him. I have grown to appreciate his high fight IQ lately. His striking is pinpoint. He only hits you where he knows it'll knock you out.

Weidman is unproven but from what I've read he's a ver violent version of Sonnen, not to mention he's young and not at a reach disadvantage. No matter what anyone says, Sonnen gave Anderson a run. It could go either way. I'm staying on the fence with this one.
