Online console gaming is such a given now, games are expected to have online multiplayer, even if it has to be shoehorned in.
Back in 2004, just a measly ten years ago, it wasn’t like this. With the release of Halo 2, the landscape of console gaming couldn’t have been more different. Halo 2 for all intensive purposes changed everything. It brought a robust console shooter to the masses that was capable of being played online.
Looking back at this time, I don’t think I’ve ever had as much fun playing a game online as I did with Halo 2. The game was so well made, everything in it was tight and felt so right.
The maps were some of the best ever made, at least the most iconic ones. Lockout in my humble opinion you could put up there with Dust (Counter Strike) and Wake Island (Battlefield.) Lockout is one of the maps that’s getting a glossy new look, check out what they changed on it.
