Battlefield 4's Multiplayer Will Feature Two New Modes: Obliteration and Defuse

If you for some reason are on the fence about picking up Battlefield 4 and haven’t pre-ordered it already, I don’t know, maybe you just don’t like the Battlefield games? We could have theoretical arguments about which first person shooter series is the “best” or which offers the best gameplay and everything else, but the thing here is, we all like what we like. Deal with it. So Battlefield 4’s release is rapidly approaching and if you are like me, you really don’t care about the single player at all and will probably only play the multiplayer. That’s okay, because you are like most BF players then.

The question of questions is; what game modes will be available in Battlefield 4? There was some experimenting with the last few Battlefield games, which is fine and dandy, but there are some modes which are absolutely needed for it to be a full Battlefield experience. Luckily for us, we got some details as for the upcoming modes in Battlefield 4 and it looks like most of us will be pretty happy. There will also be two newer modes launching with Battlefield 4, each one a bit different than the other, which should add some variety into the mix. Those modes are Obliteration and Defuse. Obliteration sounds more like a classic Battlefield style of play; a bomb will spawn in a central location of a map and your team is tasked with picking up the bomb and planting it in one of three enemy locations while defending your three locations against them trying to plant the bomb.

They have yet to really detail Defuse mode yet, but have described it as a smaller, infantry-only style of gameplay with no respawns. The title alone implies some sort of bomb, I’m guessing. It kind of sounds like a Call of Duty mode, which I’m sure the BF community will love...
