For years, the gold standard of MMA .gif-dom was Clay Guida versus Diego Sanchez duking it out in their epic slugfest from 2009. It was glorious, and you could get lost in its loop, watching over and over, finding the meaning of life swirling around between the fists of Diego and the hair of Guida.

Until last night, when Josh Barnett and Roy Nelson threw down in an epic slugfest of old man proportions. Last night, in Saitama, we were delivered this gem.

The most important lesson in all of this is how .gif technology has improved over the years.
