If anyone from the California State Athletic Commission is reading this please don’t test Bellator light heavyweight Emanuel Newton for recreational marijuana. Just don’t do it. In preparation for Bellator’s four man one night 205 pound tournament, Newton said in his previous fights he had “been in the gym and smoking a lot of weed”.
Insider reports say Newton’s first round opponent at Bellator Dynamite 1, Phil Davis has also been in the gym prepping for his fight but is not known if he has also been smoking a lot, a little, a trash bag full, or no weed at all. Maybe Newton is supporting the #FreeNickDiaz movement in his own chill way.
Odds have increased that Newton will run through the Bellator tourney winning via Showtime kick and flying armbar only to fail his post-fight drug screen. Don’t be like that MMA universe.
