The latest hypothesis involving the UFC really wanting McGregor to win the 145 pound belt involves episode three of the promotion’s YouTube Embedded series. The Embedded series is some of the best production work and storytelling ever done by a combat sport’s promotion. With attention detail at an all-time high regarding hyping UFC 189 why did the UFC upload two different versions of “UFC 189 Embedded: Vlog Series – Episode 3”? And why did they remove the first version off the face of the earth a hour after uploading it?
Rumors have it that first longer version of “Episode 3” contained McGregor working takedown defense repeatedly at the UFC’s Las Vegas training center. The video also showed the Irishman grabbing the cage to prevent from falling to his back.
The new version of “Episode 3” has about a minute of footage left on the cutting room floor. Was Mendes laughing at McGregor’s jokes edited out? Did the first version show a certain UFC fighter wearing Nike gear and not Reebok? Did Mendes leak phone numbers off his cell phone in a quick one second shot? Is McGregor favoring one of his knees?
