Phil Davis’ first fight in Bellator will be dedicated to the guy at your work who shows up a little late, takes extra-long lunch breaks, and for some reason spends a ridiculous amount of time in the bathroom. Cubicle worker Phil Davis could be that dude if he didn’t have massive shoulder muscles and wasn’t really good at wrestling. Davis as your office IT or human resources guy just wouldn’t be the same.
During the time between Patricio Pitbull clubbing Daniel Weichel and Kimbo vs. Shamrock starting up, the Bellator 138 Spike TV broadcast had nearly 40 minutes of air to fill. Some prelims were shown, a main event hype video played, and a handful of fighters competing at Bellator’s September Dynamite card were scheduled to be interviewed alongside Scott Coker. Except nobody from Spike TV or Bellator could find Davis. Where’s Waldo? Nope, where the hell was Phil Davis?
Before Davis’ smiling face could be put on a milk carton his whereabouts during his scheduled TV interview were discovered by Bellator’s head of public relations Danny Brener. Mr. Brener you are the True Detective.
