Could Joanna Jędrzejczyk be poised to be MMA’s next Queen bee?

(Pronounced Yen-jey-chek)

Standing 5’6″ and 115 lbs, the newly crowned UFC Strawweight Champion could be the next big thing. She’s adored by MMA fans as the sweet quirky girl who collects Air Jordans as her favorite hobby. An
admitted sneaker head, she’ll take a pair of those kicks over high heels any day.

But don’t let her cute personality fool you, she may be famous for the amount of Jordan’s and kicks she owns but what she’s really (in)famous for is her fighting skills.

Much like Ronda Rousey’s Judo, Joanna’s hand speed and precision is unmatched so far in her class. A decorated kickboxer from Poland, Jędrzejczyk has won over 60 matches and six championships.

She’s so confident in her abilities, before every fight, she intimidates her opponents with what now seems to be her crowd-pleasing trademark stare down where she crouches to the level of her opponents
and gives them a death stare.

The UFC really needs a Queen bee like Joanna to hopefully spurt a new wave of contenders to help the division in it’s infancy grow. Naysayers will claim Strawweight women have no power or no technique, but Joanna proves that it’s possible.

Sky’s the limit for the young 27 year old, who has been seen working very hard on closing the gap on her grappling deficiencies with world renowned BJJ black belt Robert Drysdale. Ladies and gentlemen, that’s the shocking part, she’s only getting better.

Jędrzejczyk is expected to make her first title defense against Jessica Penne at UFC Fight Night: Jędrzejczyk vs. Penne on June 20th. Nice.
