Report: She’s coming for you Bones. 1-0 Paige VanZant eyeing Jon Jones UFC records

What took so long? Winning 100% of her UFC fights and on not a one but two fight winning streak strawweight title contender Paige VanZant is finally talking about UFC belts. Back in the day you needed at least two wins inside the UFC’s world famous Octagon and be on a three fight winning streak before you sniffed a title shot. Thankfully those dark days are behind us and a grizzled veteran like VanZant can not only eye UFC gold but also the promotion’s record books.

The 21 year old VanZant, who has the maturity of a 23 year old, has spoken about breaking current 205 pound champion Jon “Bone” Jones record of becoming the youngest champ in UFC history.

“Obviously, that would be huge, and that would be awesome; I try not to think about it and try not to focus on setting records,” VanZant told MMAjunkie. “I strictly want to beat every opponent I face whether it’s for a title or for a small show. The only thing for me is winning my fights and being the best athlete I can be.”

Huge and awesome is how you could best describe VanZant’s current run of 115 pound division domination. “Taking it one fight at a time” and “only focusing on the opponent in front of her” is champion speak for “prepare for a run of UFC title dominance like you’ve never seen before. All those records are mine, not yours.” VanZant and her quite confidence enters the cage again this weekend versus introvert Felcie Herrig at UFC on Fox 15 in New Jersey.
