The buzz around the world of mixed martial arts is the arrest of former UFC fighter Dave Herman. You may remember Herman from such UFC fights as UFC on Fuel TV: Sanchez vs. Ellenberger, UFC 153, and UFC 162. After a routine traffic stop at a gas station, Herman was tased by police officers on the scene after he exited his car.
Herman’s wife, Madeleine Herman, was able to capture the entire incident from the passenger seat of her vehicle. With her infant son in the backseat, Madeleine and Dave’s biggest problem with the police on the scene is that the officers would not show three forms of identifications to the couple. Dave argues with the police officers about IDs , then Madeleine argues with the police officers about IDs.
Madeleine’s video was uploaded to the libertarian activist website TheFreedomline.com. If Herman was still in the UFC and was wearing officially licensed Reebok fight shorts while he drives his family around town, the cops would’ve recognized him right away. Reebok is the ultimate ID for current and ex-UFC fighters in 2015.
