UFC’s Phil Harris retires, thus revealing he existed

Phil Harris, who seems to have been a UFC flyweight, has just retired. He began his career with the World’s #1 organization in October, 2012, losing via rear naked choke to a fellow named Darren Uyenoyama. Darren, I am told, is also a flyweight.

Harris struck gold in February 2013, beating Uly Gomez via decision. On paper, it looked like an important moment, a chance at notoriety. But it happened in London, unfortunately.

His next three performances, against John Lineker (sp?), Louis Gaudinot, and some guy named Neil Seery, resulted in two losses and a no contest. Harris originally lost that fight against Gaudinot, but the loss was overturned when Gaudinot, a man I know nothing about at all, failed a drug test. All of these things really happened, according to Wikipedia.

And so, Harris offered a goodbye via a surprisingly verified Twitter account. He has plans to train at a gym in Portsmouth which, it turns out, is an actual city.
