A decision? What? The judges deem Robbie Lawler the rightful winner against Matt Brown at UFC on FOX

The hype would lead us to believe that both men would likely be having an EA UFC fight (pre-patch), but what went down in the main event fight on FOX tonight was a measured beating by Robbie Lawler upon the shredded nose of Matt Brown. Yeah, it’s a bummer that Matt Brown’s seven-fight winning streak has been snapped, but it’s now undoubtable that Robbie Lawler is the next person to fight Johny Hendricks. Winter is coming, and so is a rematch. Oh yes, a rematch.

Considering Hendricks won their first fight with a final-minute takedown, I’m thrilled to see a rematch in a sport marred by far too many of them, but this is a fight I welcome.

Props to Matt Brown for making it a fight for 25 minutes, but this is Robbie’s time in the welterweight division, clearly. Now it’s time for him to go after that belt.

Now make Nick Diaz fight Matt Brown.
