Nick Diaz has signed a new deal with the UFC, and he’s ready to fight tonight, tomorrow… Or next year

Who would’ve ever thought Joe Riggs and Nick Diaz would both get new deals from the UFC on the same day in 2014? It makes us want Joe Riggs vs Nick Diaz in a hospital gown rematch because frankly, the UFC needs more gimmick matches. But even if we get the heavily-rumored Nick Diaz vs Anderson Silva superfight, we’ll be cool with that. We’re not picky.

So the deets. Nick Diaz has signed a three-fight contract extension with the UFC. We don’t know how many fights total he’s at now, but he’s probably getting the money that he’s always wanted to be enticed back like this. You know, enough money to get pampered like a mother****er.

The elder Diaz (not the Elder Scroll) said the most Nick Diaz thing possible about returning to the fight game to UFC.com:

“Next year I guess, whatever though. I can fight tomorrow; tonight,” he said. “You have to do what you have to do. … [I came today] to sort things out with Dana White and Lorenzo [Fertitta].

“It was hard times for a little bit, but people act like I’ve been doing nothing. I’ve been getting some things done. Just because I’m not getting punched around every day doesn’t mean I’m not focused on what I’m doing. Now, here we are.”

“You got people running around – you got Johny Hendricks running his mouth,” Diaz said. “People yelling at me that I’m not at Top 10 level. ‘You learned to fight by watching me. Your guy that trains you was somebody that was in my era.’”

As far as Anderson, well, Diaz’s stance is that as long as it makes cash, ees normal:

“I’d be interested in fighting [Anderson Silva] and anything that’s going to do well,” he continued. “As far as Anderson Silva, I think that would be a great fight for people to see because he has my type of style.

We’ll watch Diaz fight anyone. ANYONE. Welcome back, Nick. Now we just need Nate back and all will be right with the cosmos.
