Despite MiddleEasy having credentials for just about any UFC show, they ignore my multiple requests to add my picks for the UFC rankings. It bums me out considering I know I could do better than well over half of the people on that list, but I don't want to be mean or call anyone out, I just want to rank some fighters.
Do I think Nate deserves a title shot? Of course not. Dude needs to win a couple fights. Do I think he has the right to sit out until he gets paid what he thinks he's worth, sure. He may not fight, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be included in the rankings.
With Nate Diaz being ousted from the official UFC rankings due to inactivity according to Dana White on UFC Tonight, you have to wonder, why is Dominick Cruz still on there? Gray Maynard is 1-3-1 and fought on the SAME NIGHT as Nate, does not have a fight booked and is still on the list.
If Dominick Cruz is still on the list, after going damn near 2.5 years since stepping into the Octagon, then what's the deal here?
Dana broke it down on UFC Tonight, I guess:
“Everybody is talking about Nate Diaz being removed. So was T.J. Gant. T.J. Grant was removed too for inactivity. Early on, we’d let Dominick (Cruz) hold the title and stay in therankings as long as we did. It’s unfair to the guys who are active.
“Nate Diaz is in this position where he’s turning down fights, hasn’t accepted any fights, and has been inactive. We don’t know how long he’s going to be inactive, so take him off the rankings. When he comes in and fights his next fight they’ll rank him again after his fight,”
So the way I look at it is like this: Nate Diaz is not ranked because he's not on TV.
With this scientific approach to deducting the rankings, it's shocking I'm not allowed on the panel... I take a very libertarian approach to this crap.
