Woah, Aleksander Emelianenko is now on the federal most wanted list

Ah, this Aleksander Emelianenko. His life is more interesting than any storyline ever created by the writers of History Channel’s Vikings. Look, I really want to love that show for the sheer cinematography, concept, and gutsiness of the idea by History Channel — but the show has put me to sleep more than solo weeknight drinking.

I first heard of Emelianenko’s alleged rape debacle last week, but as of this week he’s been placed on the Russian federal most wanted list due to an incident that happened with his house keeper. According to the reports (which are mostly in Russian), Aleksander sexually assaulted his housekeeper and stole her passport from her purse. The housekeeper went to the police to report the incident last month, but apparently has dropped the charges. However this hasn’t stopped the Russian feds from placing him on the most wanted list. Here’s an excerpt from a rare Russian-based news site that provides English translations for all of the mono-speaking individuals out there.

Mixed martial artist Alexander Emelianenko has been put on the federal most wanted list as a suspected sex offender, Russian Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin told Interfax.

“A. Emelianenko is federally wanted,” he said.

According to Markin, the status of Emelianenko will soon change to that of a defendant.

A criminal case was opened against Emelianenko on Tuesday under part 1, article 132 and part 2, article 135 of the Russian Criminal Code (rape and theft of documents).

Detectives said Emelianenko sexually abused a cleaning lady in his apartment in Moscow’s Peresvetov Side-Street early in the morning on March 3, 2014, and stole her passport from her purse.

The Moscow city police department reported in early March that it was verifying information about a new incident involving Emelianenko. The media said a Muscovite had filed a rape report with the police.

Some of you remember last year it was reported that Aleksander raped two prostitutes, but upon closer investigation they were just falsifying reports and all charges were dropped.
