Are we in the middle of a GSP vs. Lorenzo Fertitta beef? Yes, I think we are…

Before we get on with this article, if there was an MMA themed restaurant (which there actually is), the menu should have ‘Chicken Fertittas with tortillas.’ All beef should be served on a Keith Kaiser roll. For dessert, Georges St. Pear — smothered with something that is impossible to get off, even if you spend twenty five minutes attempting to pull it off.

Georges St. Pierre is no longer the UFC welterweight champion, heck he’s not even a UFC fighter. It’s a fact that is difficult for some, but can be very liberating for MMA fans that need a reason to do something besides strap pseudo-racist Japanese bands around their head and walk around the house talking about their ‘riddum’ in a horrible French-Canadian accent.

Now that GSP is removed from the company he was vehemently represented, he’s taking time to speak out about issues within the UFC — most notably how everyone is juiced to the gills on TRT. Check out what St. Pierre said (in French) when asked by the Canadian Press about his attempt to involve the Anti-Doping Association in his final bout against Johny Hendricks.

“It bothered me greatly,” St-Pierre said, according to the Canadian Press. “It was one of the reasons I decided to step aside.”

“I tried to change things and unfortunately — maybe for money reasons, maybe for image — they were not ready to do that. I tried in a very diplomatic way and it didn’t work, so it’s unfortunate, but I believe it will happen sooner or later.”

For those people that have difficulty with reading short quotes, GSP essentially said one of the reasons why he quit the UFC is the drug-testing policies in the UFC. As expected, this angered UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta and he decided to swiftly respond in this Yahoo! Sports interview.

“We’ve always had an open line of communication with him and I’d like to know why he feels that way.”

“It was extremely disappointing to hear Georges make those comments because I don’t think any organization has embraced drug testing as we have,” Fertitta said. “We have not only agreed to pay when the commission has said it wants to do enhanced testing, we’ve encouraged it. We have no problem with testing. When we serve as the commission [in areas out of the country where there is no commission], we test everyone on the card so we are thorough and there can be no claims of bias.

“Whatever a commission would want us to do in terms of testing, we would embrace it. We’ll do as many as they want. I think perhaps Georges’ people didn’t communicate to him in detail everything we’d do as they tried to arrange the testing for the fight with him and Johny.”

Now for those people are have difficulty reading long quotes, Fertitta said he was bummed out to hear that from GSP and then gave reasoning as to why he feels GSP’s statement is erroneous.
