In September of 1997, I was just going into the 2nd grade. It was the same year that I received the Gran Turismo for Christmas. Playing the original Gran Turismo for me was pretty interesting, as I didn’t have a memory card. So I would play until I couldn’t keep my eyes open and just see how far I could get. Luckily, I was too young to realize how torturous that was. I actually enjoyed it, it was a sort of challenge for me, finding out what was the best base car to buy, the best set ups for each car and so on and so forth.
What I was not doing was wrestling a real bear, a baby bear, but a bear that could probably eat 100 children before I could finish a plate of wings. This is what Khabib Nurmagomedov was doing in September of 1997, which puts me and waiting for Gran Turismo to come out to shame. I would like to see Khabib Nurmagomedov get an A license in Gran Turismo in one day without the help of his dad. Then, I’ll be impressed, I mean, with six months of sprawl training, I could out-grapple a bear.
