Lyoto Machida says he didn't drink as much urine as he normally would leading up to UFC Fight Night 30

When I was in college, I drank a bottle of my own urine for a $5 Barnes and Nobles Gift card, three cans of Natural Light and half of a meatball sub because I was a drunk idiot. It sort of tasted like a warm Powerade. There was also this hot chick that I thought would be impressed by my urine drinking abilities, she never really talked to me again. It's cool, she's pregnant now by some dude that's in prison for trafficking drugs from Mexico to America, so in the end, I think I won.

Lyoto Machida drinks his liquid waste under the guise of 'urine therapy,' a process that's supposed to replenish lost minerals in the body by recycling one's own fluid. My counter argument to that is if we need these 'lost minerals,' then why is the body removing them through waste? Like they say, another man's junk is the same man's treasure if consumed through urine. Actually, that's not how it goes. Nothing should go like that in fact.

Check out this Whoa! TV interview in which Lyoto Machida states that he's taking it easy on the urine drinking leading up to this weekend's UFC Fight Night 30. HT to Ariel Helwani.

Yeah, seems like a really good guy.

The urine question is getting old. He's not the first person to do it. Some people have been doing this for a long time. It's supposed to be very healthy. If it works for him, cool! I personally drink apple cider vinegar and eat cloves of raw garlic for health--some people can't even handle natural things like this.

It is what it is. If you choose to drink sugar water because Jon Jones is sponsored by the company, cool! I don't hate you, just think you're a dumbass... you see how relative that is?

Well said man. Are you drinking cider for the benefits it has on hair growth or other benefits? And if so, have you noticed a difference? Ive always eaten raw garlic, and raw onion with my food since my youth. Its delicious and extremely healthy. As a child I used to eat raw veggies all day like a fucking sheep. Ive been extremely into nutrition and health in general for a few years now. Its fun.

I drink ACV for health benefits.

1. After eating a shitty cheat meal.

2. To lower my blood sugar levels, especially if I feel I ate too much sugar in a day or whatever.

3. To control my cholesterol and possibly stave off heart disease.

4. I use it to detox, say after a night of drinking and eating crap--which I don't do often but sometimes unavoidable--fr iends come with obligations--ha ha!

5. If I feel a cold or flu coming on I'll drink 3 - 4 ACV/water a day to help keep the cold at bay.

Never heard of hair benefits, but I swear by everything else I just said, and don't doubt what you are saying.

The idea of urinotherapy is that urine is not a waste. Repeating that it is a waste doesn't make a point.
Urinotherapy promoters explain that waste is produced by liver filtration, not by kidney filtration which happens on blood which has been freshly filtered through the liver first.
But you would know that if you googled the subject instead of repeating closeminded prejudices about it.
Or if you, you know, investigated things before explaining them. And of course you did that in the name of science, as if science was about explaining the uninvestigated instead of investigating the unexplained.
Have you tried it ? Why not? Because "experts" tell you that urine is a waste and that it has no positive effects ? That's not being rational, that's being prejudiced and scared to try and judge for yourself.
Cheers.

BTW you dont have to drink urine to test its effect on your skin.
