Blast to the Past: Cain Velasquez tears his ACL two weeks before his first encounter with JDS

There’s not a convincing argument out there as to why Cain Velasquez can not take you down at any given moment. It was James Brown that said ‘you can’t get up until you get down.’ Under Cain Velasquez’s laws of physics, that statement is 100% true. If Cain Velasquez invented a branch of science, all matter in this universe would end up on the ground at some point in time. It would also get ground and pounded by fists that are 10-1 and holds the crown for the highest finishing percentage in the UFC heavyweight division.

Just fourteen days before his UFC on FOX showdown against Junior dos Santos on November 12, 2011, Bobby Razak set up his cameras in order to prepare for a Dethrone commercial and managed to capture Cain Velasquez tearing his ACL on the training mat. Razak didn’t release the video for the obvious reasons, but a year later he gave us the exclusive footage an we published it just days before UFC 155.

Now that we’re just days away from yet another Cain Velasquez vs. Junior dos Santos show down, let’s take another look at this ACL tear in this Blast to the Past segment. Check out the clip below and don’t forget to follow @BobbyRazak and @Dethrone on Twitter.
