If you want Lyoto Machida vs. Tim Kennedy then you're going to get it on November 6th

If you want Lyoto Machida vs. Tim Kennedy then you're going to get it on November 6th

Tim Kennedy announced late Wednesday evening that he will be taking on Lyoto Machida in the middleweight division on November in UFC: Fight for the Troops 3. It's been a while since we've seen one of those events, the last one in recent memory being when Steve Cantwell served a nasty dislocation to Rasak Al-Hassan's arm at the inaugural Fight for the Troops in 2008. Give me a silent head nod if you remember watching that moment live, and don't tell me your mouth wasn't dropped in horror while witnessing it.

So we have Lyoto Machida vs. Tim Kennedy slated, quite possibly as the main event this Fall. Now realistically, who do you see winning this fight. Got your pick? Good. Now imagine the other guy winning instead. Are you surprised? Yeah, me neither.

The point I'm trying to make is despite who you think will win between Machida vs. Kennedy, we live in a world in which Anderson Silva was knocked out by Chris Weidman and Ubereem was front kick KOd by Travis Browne. This year, everything imaginable in MMA as equal probability of happening. There are no odds anymore.

Zeus @MiddleEasy

Zeus is represented by Galactus in his avatar image because he has an immature obsession with Marvel when they went all sci-fi back in the mid 80s. I'm the creator of MiddleEasy and Nickelodeon's The Adventures of Pete and Pete. Just kidding about the Nickelodeon stuff, but that would be really cool.

Belfort-Kennedy had me a bit excited even though it didn't seem to make sense. This, this I don't get.

I don't mean to be a dick, but if this is "Fight for the Troops 3", then shouldn't "the last one in recent memory" be Fight for the Troops 2 in 2011, instead of Fight for the Troops 1 in 2008?

You're right, it should. However I just don't remember the second event. I believe DaMarques Johnson competed in it.

Don't mean to be a dick either (LOL), but from what I picked up in my linguistics course (2nd LOL) you only need one tense marker per verb:

Quoting zeus:
Ubereem was front kicked KOd..

Just saying.

Machida should drop to flyweight just to prove the power of urine.

Urine has the power of apple cider vinegar, aspirin, meth, and cacao all rolled into one.

I want to see Machida vs. Stann because it's like Ryu vs. Guile, and I like Street Fighter.

Overeem is going to get KO'd again. I said it before he was knocked out by Silva. Did anyone listen? No. A quick check of his MMA record should have clued anyone in that he will lose via tko/ko. It doesn't take a genius. No matter how intimidating he looks, he just doesn't go after his opponents and that will always leave him open to having his chin tested. And his chin isn't that great to begin with.

As for Machida, he will likely lose this fight unless he starts fighting like a man with something to prove. Kennedy is a solid fighter who could win this via decision.

feel real bad for those hooah's having to watch Machida put down one of their elites in the main event of a show made for them, you wouldve thought they wouldve gave kennedy something easier. shame, i actually like the guy when he drops the chip on his shoulder he with the military, like he has to prove something for us or something. i mean its cool at first to hold it down for us but it gets to the point where its almost sounds patronizing
