Dan Henderson vs. Vitor Belfort II is slated for November 9th in Brazil

Dan Henderson vs Vitor Belfort 2? Yes. According to UFC Tonight, the UFC has decided to slate this one for November 9th. For those of you who might not be aware, these two old/young dinosauric-lions squared off in the Pride FC ring once upon a time, except it didn’t really feel like a Pride FC match because the unified rules were in effect due to the fight taking place at one of those USA shows.

The match was basically Dan Henderson going all Olympic wrestling(save it!) on Belfort for three rounds.

While I usually dig “legends matches” (I even bought UFC 109), this one really strikes me as strange. Not because, I think it will be uncompetitive, but because there were so many matches to be made with both Belfort and Henderson. Lyoto wanted a piece of Belfort and let's not forget the American Gangster that is Chael Sonnen. As far as Hendo, he'll basically fight anyone but he’s coming off two straight losses which makes this fight all the more questionable.

This feels like when a TV show that was only okay in its original run gets another crack at a season years later, *cough* Arrested Development *cough*. I mean sure the Netflix season wasn’t the worst thing I’ve watched on Netflix, but it was far from fantastic — mostly because it felt like it was shot with a camcorder. Ariel Helwani has more professional camera work for his YouTube interviews.

I can’t help but feel like this match-up of two UFC/Pride stalwarts will suffer the same fate of giving fans a nostalgic sensation leading up to the fight, followed by an inevitable let down when these two elder MMA statesmen put on a lesser version of what we saw before.

Although, Belfort has been looking spectacular lately, especially in Brazil, so maybe he’ll finally crack Hendo’s legendary chin. Or maybe Hendo will decide to throw punches with Belfort this time instead of repeatedly taking him down.

On November 9th, we’ll all watch to see what happens when the H-Bomb has this run in with the Young Dinosaur. I just hope it’s better than a crappy reboot shot with a camcorder.

I wish I could believe that hendos batch of TRT is going to be more potent than Belforts steroids, but it seems unlikely. Fucking ridiculous. Belfort has been Cherry picking fights via twitter through his whore wife/manager, and gets his 3rd straight in Brazil. GTFO man.

Yea I know...its not looking good. He is soo damn slow too. I think its safe to say though that Belfort is hiding in Brazil. Fuck what Dana White says. I don't believe a word of it...hence why they keep throwing retarded match-ups his way that make no sense, all coincidentally in Brazil because apparently according to White, Belfort is the reincarnation of Christ to people in Brazil, which couldn't be further from the truth.

Also, why no article on Struves career ending heart condition M.E?

Nice. I did not see this fight coming. Vitor has been calling out a lot of guys, none of which were named Hendo. Let the bombs fly!

Henderson lost both of his last fights by split decision and in my opinion he got robbed in both of the fights

Really? In Brazil again?

They're just doing this to cater to the Brazilian fans who, as Dana just said, want to see Brazilians beat up Americans. Ain't no way Hendo could win against a roided up Belfort.

The TRT championships! The winner should fight Sonnen. In even better, the loser needs to fight the Reem naked in the Russian country side.

This fight is a way to keep Vitor from getting another title fight thats all.If Vitor KO's the unkoable well shit...then it'll be mousasi then it'll be chael then machida ...everyone gets a rematch not Vitor....how many think Vitor KO's Weidman?

Damn, Hendo is slowing down and his wrestling is not what it used to be, where as Belfort is pure beastmode at the moment, all be it TRT beastmode

I don't really like this match up for Hendo, unless he TRTs the shit out of this fight. I think Belfort may be the first to KO Hendo :'(

I think Belfort is on more than just TRT. I think he's stacking some Trenbolone and Halotestinin there. I give Belfort the edge by chemistry...

I really rather see Belfort vs Machida simply for the fact that it would be an awesome fight, and would create a #1 contender argument much easier. I feel like Dan is just too slow at this point in his career, although I always respect Pride rematches

In the Pride fight Dan was in his prime, and Vitor was struggling with a lot, now Vitor is seemingly in his prime and Dan is over the hill....

It's hardly a great match up, but it's far from bad. Two legends going at it...reminds me of Coleman vs Couture, and Dan's Coleman lol.
