The Macho Man Randy Savage may have been the greatest professional wrestler of all-time. If he’s not at the top of your personal list, the Macho Man has to be at least in your top five or the rest of your list is null and void. As a kid Hulk Hogan, the Ultimate Warrior, and Sting were the larger than life superheroes come to life while Savage was just his alter ego cranked up to 11.
Over the top and must see TV, whatever Savage did in the ring or on the mic he owned and often stole the show in the process. Go back and watch Savage in a battle royal or multi-man tag team match, once you lock your eyes on the former pro baseball player from a pro wrestling family you cannot take your pupils off of him.
The Macho Man persona was one that could’ve worked in any era of professional wrestling.
About 20 years past due, Savage is finally getting inducted into the WWE’s version of the Hall of Fame. Politics and personal grudges kept him out of the HOF but Savage will be the clear headliner during the WWE Hall of Fame 2015 ceremony on the eve of WrestleMania 31.
