Regardless of what the odds makers or fight fans think of this Evans/Jones matchup, you can’t deny that the dissolution of the Greg Jackson/Bones Jones/Rashad Evans ‘family’ is evolving into one the more intriguing story lines in recent memory. This is like Jeremy Horn and Pat Miletich fighting in 1999. Actually, maybe it would be like Matt Hughes fighting Jeremy Horn in 2002, yeah, that makes more sense. Imagine Miletich wiping his hands clean of the situation, leaving Tim Sylvia confused and wandering the cornfields of Iowa, terrifying. The latest chapter of this young but intriguing saga was written yesterday as Rashad Evans sat down (or stood, who knows really but him?) with Bloody Elbow and had some, you know, stuff to get off his chest.
“I mean it’s one thing to say something in an interview but the least you could have picked up the phone and been like, “man I did an interview today and they kind of put me on the spot with a rough question and I answered it this way.” At least give me the heads up so that way I know and not look at it if he’s Judas or something. You know who Judas is? That interview was some backstabbing s**t but now it’s like whatever because now I know the game he is playing. Then for Greg to sit back and say he doesn’t want to have anything to do with it….why not? You f**kn created the situation. Be his coach and be in his corner. That’s what you want so do it. I saw The Last Temptation of Christ, I know who Judas Iscariot was. Judas was just fulfilling the Green Goblin’s orders to rat him out to the Romans so he could fulfill his destiny and die on the cross.
