Cowboy Cerrone Tattooed His Own Foot Like the Monk He Really Is

Cowboy Cerrone is a Tibetan Monk who happens to enjoy wearing cowboy hats and drinking malt liquor.  For one thing, his mind appears to be in a state of perfect equilibrium, and nothing seems to bother him.  “Don’t give a shit,” he has said in interviews.  I think I read that somewhere in the Secret of the Golden Flower.

Then consider his habit of practicing isolation.  Specifically, he holed up in an RV park before his fight against Eddie Alvarez. But most importantly, he has achieved complete mastery over pain. Granted, he isn’t setting himself on fire to protest Chinese occupation, but he just gave himself a tattoo on the top of his own foot.

According to a guy who I presume is an expert online, here is something you should know before you get a tattoo on the top of your foot:

“. . . [D]oes it hurt? In regards to foot tattoos, the answer is yes. In reality the answer is yes to all tattoos but the foot is more intense. Generally, a tattoo tends to hurt more on areas where there is less padding provided by muscle, bringing the bones and tendons closer to the surface. This causes the vibrations of the tattoo machine to resonate through those parts making the sensations more intense.”

Cowboy Cerrone is a monk.  And if you see him swapping Skoal Bandits with the Dalai Lama at a trailer park BBQ, don’t look away or you may forget who is who.  Of course, you could always check his foot.
