Year in and year out, my favorite MMA event always lands on the same day, new years eve. Without fail, it lands on the same day. Whether it be DREAM, Sengoku, Inoki, Pride, it doesn’t matter.
They always have the perfect mix of high level fights, lower level brawls, squash matches, weird freak fights, incredible VTRs and if we are really lucky, some pro wrestling.
Unfortunately it’s been getting increasingly smaller over the years with the decline of MMA popularity in Japan. This year, we do have some clarity as for the plans of a NYE card.
DEEP announced today that they will be holding a NYE card this year and will be enlisting the help of Shooto and Pancrase as well.
