This morning I found myself explaining the entire Nate Diaz situation to someone that casually follows MMA and the only response he could repeat is ‘How could people let that happen?’ Apparently he was shocked that something would be considered sports fact, and then for that sports fact to be so radically altered out of sheer spite by (essentially) the promoter of the sport. It’s basically your boss giving you a $100 Amazon Gift Card for being the February 2014 employee of the month, and then you miss one day in May and he suddenly digs in your pocket to get his $100 back.
There’s no logical reason to justify Nate Diaz being removed from the rankings, but it happened, and there’s nothing journalists or MMA fans can do about it. Seriously, we just must accept it as fact. History literally being rewritten in front of our eyes. Well, YouTube vlogger Beer Drank Shawty has decided to express his outrage and confusion in this video — and he analytically sums up the situation nicely.
